2017 Day of Caring

What is Day of Caring?

Day of Caring is a one‐day event where hundreds of volunteers spread out across Carlsbad and South Eddy County to help non‐profit organizations with a variety of projects including: painting, gardening, clean‐up, building and food sorting. The day will start with a kick‐off breakfast at 7:30 am.  Then, volunteers will spread out to their respective projects to begin their service. Join us for a great day of community service and camaraderie!

We will also be facilitating a wonderful service project to benefit the most vulnerable in our community. We are asking volunteers to bring a nonperishable food item that we will donate to a local food pantry that will help the most poverty stricken families in our community.

When is Day of Caring?

This year’s event will be held on Friday, September 22nd. The kick‐off breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m. Volunteers will leave our kick off breakfast by 8 am to travel to their work sites.

Where is Day of Caring?

Throughout Carlsbad and South Eddy County! The day kicks‐off with pastries, fruit, coffee, juice and a short program. Immediately following, volunteers will head for their assigned projects for a day of fun and hard work!

How can we help with Day of Caring?

If your company plans to coordinate a team of volunteers, you will first be asked to identify a team captain and complete a registration form. If your company is not able to provide a team of volunteers for Day of Caring, there are many other ways to get involved including: making an in‐kind donation such as  water, snacks, or a sponsorship to assist in purchasing the supplies needed for the projects.  100% of all sponsorships are used for Day of Caring expenses only.
