Funding Strategies

Dear Non-Profit Organization:

United Way of Carlsbad and South Eddy County is requesting a Letter of Intent from any 501 (c)3 non-profit health or health service organization, educational program, or any governmental or quasi-governmental unit, providing services that align with United Way’s identified needs in Education, Health or Income Support for funding in 2016.  

 Only those organizations who submit a Letter of Intent with the requied information by the deadline will be eligible for Tier 2 funding in January 2016.  Our complete Funding Strategies document can be located on our website at http://www.unitedwayofcarlsbad.org/content/2016-funding-strategies.

 Eligibility Requirements:

Operate or provide services within South Eddy County.

Operate as a 501 (c) 3 non-profit charitable health or health service organization, educational program, or as a governmental or quasi-governmental unit, providing services that align with United Way’s identified needs in Education, Health or Income Support.

Operate under written Articles of Incorporation and By-laws or other written documents or statutes that define the applicant’s purposes, membership, management and operation.

Operate on a non-discriminatory basis in employment, recruitment of volunteers and delivery of services.

Demonstrate effective program performance and financial responsibility and accountability.

Provide services that align with United Way’s identified needs in Education, Health and Income Support.

Letters of Intent should include:

  • Name of Organization

  •  {C}

    Organizations mission statement

  • Description of program that you are proposing including objectives for program

  •  {C}

    Dollar amount of request

  • Tentative budget for dollar amount requested

All letters must be signed by the organizations director and board president (or their equivalents).  One hard copy must be mailed to: PO Drawer EE Carlsbad, NM  88221 or hand delivered to: 116 S. Canyon Carlsbad, NM.  Either method, letters must be received by July 10, 2015 at 4pm.  (No electronic copies will be accepted!)

All submissions will be reviewed by our allocations committee.  Non-profits who meet United Way’s funding criteria will be invited to submit an application for funding in 2016.  Organizations will be notified by September 1st, 2015.
